Digital Desk: The Ribhoi Police has successfully arrested Tainehskhem Kharsati, a 22-year-old accused of sexually assaulting and murdering a 13-year-old girl.


Under the leadership of Superintendent of Police V.S. Rathore, the Ribhoi Police on Sunday escorted the accused back to the crime scene for investigation and reconstruction of events.


SP Rathore was accompanied by Additional SP O. Masar, officers from the Umiam Police Station, and experts from the Forensic Crime Scene Unit.


According to police reports, the incident occurred on October 9, when the accused allegedly raped and brutally killed the minor in a village under Ribhoi District. The victim's body was later discovered by family members and villagers in a nearby forest.


Following the discovery, police teams rushed to the scene and immediately launched a manhunt for the suspect. Within a day, they managed to apprehend the accused, who later confessed to committing the crime.


Today, the police brought Kharsati back to his village and the forest area where the crime took place.


There, he was made to identify and explain the exact location and manner in which he committed the crime.

The police, along with the forensic unit, conducted a detailed on-site investigation as part of the ongoing inquiry.


The Ribhoi Police has assured that they are treating the case with utmost seriousness and are expediting all legal processes to ensure justice for the victim.
