  • A young man from the Mihliritur area of Bordumcha endured brutal torture at rehabilitation centre

Digital Desk: While rehabilitation centres are meant to treat addiction among youths, reports of inhumane practices have surfaced on various occasions.

At the 'Bridge to Better' rehabilitation centre in Bordumcha, Arunachal Pradesh, disturbing incidents have been surfaced, where a young man from the Mihliritur area of Bordumcha endured brutal torture at the facility.

He was subjected to horrific physical abuse, including being poured with hot water and mustard oil, beaten severely, and exposed to electric shocks.

This cruel treatment has left the young man physically ill and mentally traumatized.

The man was brought to the rehabilitation centre by two youths, Krishna Moran and Jun Phukon, approximately two months ago without his family's knowledge.

The situation came to light when the family visited the centre on July 15. Despite such inhumane torture, the centre has not made any arrangements to provide primary treatment to the man.

Reports indicate that he has endured severe torture at the facility, causing widespread outrage in the Bordumcha area.

The family now plans to file a complaint against the rehabilitation centre at the Bordumcha police station.

Meanwhile, the two youths responsible for taking the man to the centre are reportedly on the run.
