ZPM's Lalduhoma is to be sworn in as Mizoram Chief Minister on December 8...

Digital Desk: The newly elected Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, will be sworn in on Friday, December 8.

With victories in 27 of the 40 assembly constituencies, the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) was declared the winner in Mizoram. ZPM leader Lalduhoma will lead the party in forming the next Mizorami government and take the oath of office as Chief Minister.

The Mizo National Front (MNF) won ten seats, the BJP won two, and the Congress won one, according to Election Commission results released yesterday.

Chief Ministerial candidate Lalduhoma of the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), defeated J Malsawmzuala Vanchhawng of the Mizo National Front by 8,314 votes in the Serchhip seat.

Lalduhoma, the Chief Minister-elect of Mizoram has pledged to resolve the long-standing border dispute with Assam through peaceful negotiations.

Lalduhoma expressed hope for a constructive resolution during ZPM's rule, emphasising his commitment to averting a recurrence of the deadly skirmishes that scarred the border in 2021.

As Mizoram embarks on a new age of governance under ZPM, the Chief Minister-elect's vision includes a dedication to diplomatic dialogue and humanitarian ideals.
