Digital Desk: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who arrived in Moscow on Wednesday night for his two-day debut visit to Russia, appears to have described his presence as "exciting" in the midst of growing Russia-Ukraine tensions.
In a video, Khan can be seen talking with members of the delegation that received him. "What a time I've come... so much excitement," Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan was overheard telling a Russian official shortly after landing in Moscow.
Khan's visit is the first by a Pakistani prime minister in almost two decades. He will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and expanding collaboration in the energy industry.
His travel to Russia comes as the US and other Western nations impose economic penalties on Russia for deploying soldiers into eastern Ukraine.
In a televised address on Thursday, Vladimir Putin confirmed the invasion, warning that hostilities between Russian and Ukrainian soldiers are "inevitable."

He even urged Ukrainian soldiers to "laid down their arms and go home." Meanwhile, Ukraine has declared martial law throughout the country.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Hussain stated on February 24 that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to Moscow is continuing as planned, and that he would return to Pakistan on time.
"Speculations about PM @ImranKhanPTI visit are misplaced. The Visit is proceeding and PM will return to Pakistan tonight as per schedule," Hussain said in a tweet.
Mr. Khan's two-day visit to Moscow is coming to a conclusion, according to reports, only hours after Russia launched a military intervention in Ukraine.
