New Delhi: Taking note of the present situation in Afghanistan, the Government of India introduced a new category of electronic visa known as “e-Emergency X-Misc Visa” with a view to fast-track visa applications for entry into India.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), which handles the visa-related issues, decided after the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.

MHA Spokesperson, in a statement, said, “A new category of electronic visa called ‘e-Emergency X-Misc Visa’ is introduced to fast-track visa applications for entry into India.”

The government of India’s decision to provide an “e-Emergency X-Misc Visa” seems it will be very helpful to the Indians stuck in Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan government collapsed after president Ashraf Ghani left the country last Sunday, following the Taliban entered Kabul on Sunday and took over the Presidential palace.

Moreover, several countries evacuated their diplomats from Afghanistan, and hundreds of people have fled to the Kabul airport in an attempt to leave Kabul due to the fear of the Taliban’s onslaught.
