According to reports, a mob attacked two women likely three to four days ago in broad daylight as they were stripped by the mob. The two women were apprehended by locals in Malda's Pakuahat, who accused them of theft.

The two accused women are shown being assaulted by many women in the alleged footage. However, the West Bengal Police have not received any complaints.

According to reports, the police were unaware of the incident and only learned about it when the viral video surfaced.
However, the two women were caught red-handed while committing theft and were subsequently assaulted by the locals, mainly by women shopkeepers.
An investigation into the situation is currently being initiated by the police.
