Digital Desk: A special investigation team of the Indian Army arrived at the Oting Village in Nagaland on Wednesday. The team launched an investigation into the murder of 14 innocent Naga people. Fourteen innocent people were killed in indiscriminate firing by the special paramilitary forces of the Indian Army, suspecting them to be insurgents. The tragic incident took place on December 4.

The killings provoked outrage across the entire state of Nagaland and other northeastern states, who have demanded the repealing of Armed Forces Special Powers Act, or AFSPA, that grants special powers to the Indian Armed Forces to maintain public order in "disturbed areas"

The investigating team recorded the statements of some people at Tizit police station. The investigating team consists of a major general, two brigadiers and an IPS officer.

Meanwhile, in protest against the AFSPA by the people of Nagaland, the central government has set up a high-level committee to consider AFSPA. The committee will submit the report within the next three months.

On the other hand, the Inquiry Committee has released "6033924571" WhatsApp number to collect authentic information about the incident. The committee has called for any information on the incident at this number.
