Guwahati: In the latest development, the Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Mizoram counterpart Zoramthanga will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday at 5 pm to discuss the interstate border issue.

Earlier, the two CMs had dinner at Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, on Friday evening.  

According to the report, the meeting lasted for 90 minutes.

Taking to Twitter, the CM Sarma wrote, "Happy to share that HCM Mizoram Sri@ZoramthangaCM Accepted my dinner invite at Assam House, Delhi. We had a nice dinner and a lively evening. It's always so heartening to have his gracious company. My colleague Sri @ATULBORA2joined us."

Mizoram CM Zoramthanga thanking his counterpart, tweeted, "Thank you for your warm hospitable reception Shri @himantabiswa ji and Shri @ATULBORA2 ji. Cordial discussions on various developmental topic for the welfare of Northeast India was discussed. Looking forward too many more progressive meeting."

Notably, the meeting comes after the Union Home Minister Amit Shah ordered the north-eastern states to resolve the border problem by August 15, 2022.
