Guwahati: In the new episodes of Assam-Mizoram border row, government officials reported that locals of Mizoram were constructing a road in the Southern Hailakandi district in Assam.

As per reports, the road has been constructed near Haticherra village inside the reserve forest over the last few days.

However, today three JCB were spotted on the spot. Hailakandi DC and SP visited the spot with concerned officials to conduct a spot verification.

Earlier in its series of tensions in the Assam-Mizoram border on October 29, an explosion was reported near the Baicherra forward outpost, which sparked tension between Assam and its counterpart.

On July 26, six Assam police officials and one civilian were killed, injuring 50 people in a confrontation between the two states.

Again, on August 17, miscreants from Mizoram fired at workers engaged in the construction workers in Hailakandi district, which forced the police to take aggressive steps accordingly.
