Guwahati: Rangia police in a joint operation with Rangia-based 24 Bn of SSB, arrested three human traffickers on Saturday.

As per sources, 24Bn, SSB Rangia, under the direction of assistant commandant Navneet Kumar Yadav and Rangiya Police SI Bhagwan Deka, challenged the traffickers at one house Md Mohshin Ali, located at Rangia railway station, and took 13 people into custody following a raid.

Police authorities further interrogated the spot of the detained persons in the case. The alleged traffickers were identified as Md Mohshin Ali, Md Najrul Ali, and Reshmin Sultana. They took 10 people, including two minors, from different places of Assam to Delhi by luring them with jobs.

The police unit seized two fake IDs, one PAN card, eight mobile phones, and a motorcycle without a registration number from their possession in the joint search operation.

The rescued persons were later handed over to Rangia Police for their rehabilitation purpose. An FIR has additionally been lodged against the traffickers at Rangia Police Station.
