Digital Desk: A sense of shock has gripped Guwahati following the discovery of a man's blood-soaked body inside a water tank at the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) Water Treatment Plant in Satpukhuri, near Lok Bhawan.

The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Jame Kamesh, a long-time contractual employee in the GMC's water supply department.

Kamesh had married just six months ago, and his wife is currently pregnant.

The circumstances surrounding his death are being treated as highly suspicious.

Alleging a pre-planned murder, Kamesh's family and relatives have raised concerns regarding the possible involvement of certain GMC employees.

They suspect he may have been killed to suppress information regarding a significant, undisclosed issue within the department.

Following the discovery, GMC Commissioner Chinmoy Prakash Phookan, senior police officials and a forensic team arrived at the site to initiate a comprehensive investigation.

The police recovered the body and sent it to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a post-mortem examination.

Authorities are currently investigating all leads to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death.

According to the latest reports, three employees were taken into custody late last night for questioning as the investigation remains ongoing.
