Digital Desk: The body of Afrin Ahmed, a Class 9 student who had been missing since Wednesday, was recovered from the Towkak River on Saturday morning.


The discovery concludes a four-day search operation conducted by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local administration, and community members.


The alarm was first raised after Afrin's sandals were found abandoned on the riverbank following her disappearance.


For the past several days, rescue teams and family members had worked tirelessly, extending their search efforts late into the night.


The breakthrough occurred this morning when local fishermen spotted a body floating in the river near Shingaritoli and immediately alerted the police.

 

Family members rushed to the site and tragically identified the deceased as Afrin Ahmed.


Police officials are currently at the scene and have initiated the necessary legal procedures.


The tragic end to the search has left the family devastated and cast a deep pall of gloom over the entire region.
