Digital Desk: A devastating road accident took place in the Domoni area of Barpeta Road, leaving seven individuals critically injured following a head-on collision between a speeding Omni van and an e-rickshaw.
Among those seriously hurt are a college student and an elderly person.
According to local reports, the collision involved an Omni van (AS-01-EE-8076) belonging to the electricity department and an e-rickshaw (AS-15-BC-1850).
Eyewitnesses attributed the crash to the high speed of both vehicles, noting that the impact was severe enough to cause extensive damage to the e-rickshaw and inflict life-threatening injuries on the passengers.
Promptly responding to the incident, a team from the Barpeta Road traffic police reached the site and coordinated the emergency transport of the victims to the hospital.
Both vehicles have been seized by the police as an investigation into the matter continues.
