Digital Desk: The Ministry of Women and Child Development said on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release rewards under the 'PM CARES for Children' programme via video-conferencing on Monday.

From March 11, 2020, until February 28, 2022, the government introduced COVID-19, a programme to assist children who have lost their parents, legal guardians, adoptive parents, or surviving parent.

The ministry said in a statement that the Prime Minister will transfer scholarships to school-aged children. They will also receive a PM CARES for Children passbook and a health card under the Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, according to the statement.

The youngsters, as well as their guardians and the district magistrate in charge, will participate in the event virtually. Ministers, MPs, and MLAs from the respective states and union territories will attend, according to the statement.

The scheme's goal is to provide children with long-term care and protection by providing them with boarding and lodging, empowering them through education and scholarships, preparing them for self-sufficiency with a financial support of Rs 10 lakh when they reach the age of 23, and ensuring their well-being through health insurance.
