Itanagar: An Arunachalee man allegedly shot his girlfriend’s kin who was allegedly supporting her in ending the relationship with him.
The incident took place in Itanagar wherein one Nabam Lyngdoh was shot to death by a miscreant identified as Taba Sanjay who was in a relationship with Nabam’s sister.
While speaking to Inside NE, SP Jimmy Chiram said, “On 21 August 2021 at around 8:30 pm a girl of 17 years old, came to the Police Station in Nirjuli and reported that one Taba Sanjay who she was in a relationship with, had come to the residence of her brother-in-law, Nabam Lyngdoh and shot him, leading to his death”.
On receipt of the information, a team of Police from Naharlagun along with SDPO, OC, SI moved towards the village and apprehended the accused Taba Sanjay, and recovered the weapon, a bore gun, and a dao.
As per preliminary reports, the accused Taba Sanjay and the complainant were in a romantic relationship for almost two years and were facing a rough phase in their relationship only recently.
Reportedly, the deceased Nabam Lyngdoh and the complainant’s elder sister showed support for the breakup of their relationship between the accused and the complainant, thus irking and flustering the accused in committing the crime.
