Bhattacharya, stressing about the problems faced by its people, he said, “Dima Hasao is surrounded with many problems. Government colleges like Cotton (College) University, Diphu government College got the respect they deserve but till now Haflong government college is being neglected by the Assam government.”

“In Haflong government college, there are only two PG departments, for which students face many problems, especially the financially weaker section.” he added.

Notably, BJP led Assam government recently announced that several colleges will be upgraded to the University level; however, Haflong Government College was reportedly deprived of the upgradation process.
