Washington D.C.: Two days into the violent protests that broke out at Washington DC after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol Hill, ransacking the entire building, Twitter Inc permanently suspended former US President Donald Trump’s account due to the risk of “further incitement of violence”.

For days the social media platform has been growing under pressure to take action against Trump following the violent insurrection at the US Capitol. Twitter’s latest move dispossess Trump of a potent tool he has used to communicate directly with the American people for more than a decade.
