Prior to Azad, only a few leaders had criticized Rahul so strongly after they left...

Digital Desk: Ghulam Nabi Azad, a veteran politician who just resigned from Congress, stated on Monday that he has been "forced to leave" his home.

Speaking to the media in Delhi, Azad said, "Modi is an excuse, they have had an issue with me since the G23 letter was written. They never wanted anyone to write to them, question them... Several (Congress) meetings happened, but not even a single suggestion was taken."

In his resignation letter to Sonia Gandhi, Azad accused Rahul Gandhi of "demolishing" the party's "entire consultation process," sidelining all "senior and experienced" leaders and allowing a "new coterie" of "inexperienced sycophants" to govern the party.

After Kapil Sibal, Jitin Prasada, and Yoganand Shastri, Azad is the fourth G-23 leader to quit the party.

Prior to Azad, only a few leaders had criticized Rahul so strongly after they left. The first was possibly Himanta Biswa Sarma, who left Congress to join the BJP.

Azad was a member of the Congress Working Committee and a member of the Sonia Gandhi-headed political affairs group.
