Digital Desk: A tragic incident has been reported from Panikhaiti, Guwahati, where a Home Guard personnel allegedly died by suicide using his service revolver.


The deceased, identified as 30-year-old Utpal Baruah, was serving as a Platoon Commander (SI) at the Panikhaiti Home Guard Training Centre.


Utpal Baruah, son of Kushal Baruah, was a resident of Tilani Nagar in Moran, Dibrugarh.


Reports indicate that Baruah was alone in his government quarters when the incident occurred.


While the motive behind the extreme step remains unknown, local police have reached the spot and initiated an investigation to determine the underling circumstances.
