Guwahati: Continuing with its war on drugs, the Guwahati police along with the CGPD SOG and a team from Noonmati PS along with the Central Reserve Police conducted a series of searches in various areas of the city.
The investigating team has arrested six persons after recovering 15 stolen smart phones, 6.29 gms of heroin, total cash of Rs 38,020 along with two soap boxes, 10 vials and 40 polythene bags from their possession.

One Birgu Singh Bordoloi of Housing Colony, Noonmati and another person identified as Hirakjyoti Nath of Nandangiri Path were apprehended initially. After questioning the two by the investigating team, another three persons from Patharquarry area of Noonmati were arrested identified as Md Hanif Ali, Md Sirajdul Islam and Md Suraj Jaman Seikh.
Further interrogation has been initiated against the accused. Another person identified as Alok Gogoi has been arrested after interrogating the accused persons.
Legal procedures have been initiated against the arrested. Further interrogation shall continue to look out for more leads behind the entire nexus.
