Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has assured woman hockey players from the state Sushila Pukhrambam a government job. Sushila is a player of the Indian women’s hockey team who recently played in the Tokyo Olympics.

Sushila will be assigned a post in the sports department on her return, said CM N. Biren Singh. Besides, an incentive of Rs 25 lakh would be given to her.

CM Biren Singh while talking to Sushila via video conferencing assured her of a government job. She was even asked what kind of job she would prefer on which she said that any job would be suitable for her.

The Chief Minister told her that most of the international players from Manipur, beginning from Mary Kom, were posted in the Police department.

The government would create some jobs in the Sports department for players like Pukhrambam.

He also wanted to know whether she would stay in Manipur if she got a suitable job.
