Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (or Assam PCC) has started a three-day workshop at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. The session began with a new ray of hope with the famous lines "Akou Notun Prabhat Hobo' by Jayanta Hazarika. But, the speech of the AICC general secretary in-charge of Assam, Jitendra Singh, made sensations within Congress.
During the workshop, the AICC general secretary in-charge of Assam, Jitendra Singh, said that some party associates have secret notes with the saffron party leaders. Singh stated, " If anyone from the party would like to join BJP, they are free to move out. They can go." Moreover, Singh said that some party associates keep their mouths shut in the longing to get a better place in the BJP. Also, these associates will never get a chance in Congress to raise their status and take leadership. Such remarks upon its own party politicians have created a sensational matter.
After these remarks upon party members by Singh, there are talks around regarding which party members intend to move to BJP? Over the last few years, Congress has received major jolts both in Assam and Meghalaya. The party is losing its significance over years of being in opposition. Can it be said that the major shift of MLAs from Congress to BJP is because of poor leadership at the national level? Congress felt a major blow in Assam after losing its most vocal tea community leader Rupjyoti Kurmi in the hands of BJP. Moreover, Sushanta Borgohain, the two-time Congress legislator from the Thowra constituency in Assam's Jorhat district, joined BJP.

After ruling Assam for 15years now, Congress gets fractures, unable to keep conformity among its own party leaders and associates. Five years of BJP in the state and MLAs from Congress have shifted to the saffron party, hoping to get a better position or security. Can there be a security reason that led the MLAs from the Congress party to join BJP one after the other? Associates of Congress possibly shifted to the saffron party for political career security and recognition.
Even after having such drawbacks, the party leaders still display an optimistic outlook towards the party, when in reality, the party has cracked down in these years. This promising perspective of Congress leaders might be a sense of positivity or a way to mask the insecurities breaking the political party.
Recently, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that several MLAs and Congress party leaders would join BJP. Sarma even said that he has his own people in each party. Even several youth leaders have joined hands with Sarma in the past. All these remarks and stances perhaps indicate the future of BJP in Assam and the lack of leadership in the opposition probably.
In a roundabout, BJP made it evident of holding its own mouthpiece wearing the guise of being the associates of the opposition. In that matter, such leaders have indeed violated the organizational base of Congress and the party's confidentiality. Will these members shift to the saffron party on their own, or will the Congress national leaders take some actions to maintain the party's integrity?
