Digital Desk: The Indian Meteorological Department on Sunday predicted a cold wave is approaching the North-West region of the country. A team of senior scientists at the Indian Meteorological Department revealed the prediction.

The North-West part of the country experienced a cold start to the new year as the mercury dropped down consecutively in two days.

Talking about the dropping temperature of the Capital city, RK Jenamani informed that the temperature would increase to nearly 10 degrees in the coming days.

RK Jenamani, a senior scientist at IMD, informed the media that two Western disturbances would hit the NW part of the country. One is on 3rd January night, and the other is on 7th January morning.

"Today, there is no cold wave in Delhi. Temperature is around 5-6 degrees, and in the coming days, the temperature will increase. In Delhi, the rain and thunderstorm will occur on 5-6 January. A strong wind will also be there. So, the temperature at night will be increased to 10-11 degrees from 5-6 degrees," he said.
