Digital Desk: The opposition INDIA bloc's fourth meeting has been rescheduled for December 19 in Delhi, according to Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, who announced on Sunday. He did not provide a reason for the postponement of the December 17 meeting.
Earlier, the meeting was postponed to Dec 17 after top leaders in the alliance, including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav decided to skip the meeting which was first called on December 6.
The Congress convened the meeting on December 6 in response to the announcement of the results of the elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Rajasthan. The opposition bloc conference was announced as the BJP passed the halfway point in three states.
With the defeat in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, the Congress party now only holds Himachal Pradesh in the northern belt. It is in power in Bihar and Jharkhand as a junior partner in an alliance with regional parties, and it only rules three states by itself.
