Digital Desk: Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), S. Somanath, sparked controversy when excerpts from his unpublished book, "Nilavu Kudicha Simhangal," which translates loosely as "Lions that drank the moonlight." Some of the parts contained criticism of his predecessor, K Sivan.

On Saturday, Somanath announced that he will not be publishing his upcoming autobiography.

Speaking to PTI earlier in the day, he said that everyone has different challenges to overcome in order to advance to positions of authority in a company.

In response to a report that claimed his book had disparaging statements about Sivan, his predecessor, Somanath was speaking.

He said, "Individuals in such significant roles often encounter numerous challenges, including those related to securing positions within an organisation." He further stated that everyone's journey will have these difficulties.

"I attempted to highlight the fact that many people may be eligible for important positions, and I didn't single out any specific individual in this context," he said.

In his book, Somanath admitted, there was a lack of clarity around the news of the Chandrayaan-2 mission's failure.
The chairman of ISRO reaffirmed that the goal of his book was not to condemn anyone, but to encourage those who strive to overcome difficulties in life.
