Mumbai: The hearing on the bail plea of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in connection with the drug-on-cruise case will take place today in the Bombay High Court.

The high court had adjourned the bail hearing of Aryan Khan and other accused in the case on October 21.

The plea comes up as Sameer Wankhede, the Narcotics Control of Bureau officer leading the investigation, has been hit with a ₹ 8 crore payoff claim by a witness in the case.

The anti-drugs agency has backed the officer, citing an "impeccable service record". Regarding the payoff claim - by Prabhakar Sail, a witness in the case - the NCB said Mr Sail had turned 'hostile'.

Last week, a special court in Mumbai said Aryan Khan's WhatsApp chats indicated "he is dealing in illicit drug activities of narcotic substances on a regular basis", so it could not be said he is not likely to commit similar offences while on bail.

Since October 8, Aryan has been lodged in Arthur Road jail in the drug bust case. The superstar’s son had been denied bail twice by the Mumbai courts.

Aryan Khan was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) along with Arbaaz Merchant, model Munmun Dhamecha and others following a raid at a cruise ship party on Oct 2.
