New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a massive house fire killed four members of a family in Delhi this morning. As per officials, the fire outbreak took place around 04:00 am today.

The fire department got the message at 4.07 am. Following the information, four fire tenders reached the spot to bring the fire under control. Also, the incident took place in the Old Seemapuri area of ​​Delhi. 

Officials stated the fire department recovered four bodies from a room. The room was located on the third floor of the three-story building in Delhi .

According to the fire department, four family members died of suffocation caused due to a massive fire. The deceased include Harilal, 56, his wife Reena, 55, their 24-year-old son Ashu and their 18-year-old daughter Rohini.

An added family member, Harilal and Reena’s son Akshay, 22, sustained the fire. He survived as he took a nap on the second floor of a three-story building. Further, the fire got control for upstairs by Delhi fire fighters, where the rest of the family was sleeping.

Currently, all the bodies have been sent for autopsy in Delhi. Preliminary investigations stated that the mosquito coil caught fire and was filled with smoke.

Police have filed a case under sections 436 and 304A of the Indian Penal Code. Also, an investigation is underway.
