Digital Desk: Bollywood actress Kajol will collaborate with Disney+ Hotstar on her first web series debut, the streamer said on Monday. With a teaser, the makers announced Kajol’s debut.
Kajol will debut in long-form content with the project on the streaming platform. The promo for the show referred to the well-known “palat scene” from Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. “Debut of a Star on #DisneyPlusHotstar,” wrote the makers.
Sharing the teaser of Kajol’s show, the creators wrote, “Kuch kuch ho raha hai, tum nahi samjhoge. Can you guess what we’re up to?.” The creators claimed that fans would see Kajols “all-new avatar” in the upcoming Hotsatar Specials.
Meanwhile, sharing the news Kajol said in a statement, “Exploring new formats is always a challenge; but it’s a great thing as I love to take challenges head-on. Being an avid fan of digital series, the concept has always been intriguing; and after following cool shows such as Aarya and Rudra, I knew there was no other platform than Disney+ Hotstar to start my series journey.”

Reportedly, Kajol has agreed to star in this movie as the female protagonist and would portray a mother and wife “who needs to start her profession for the sake of her family.”
“Kajol will play the role of a new-age mom for one more time, but this show has a lot more to it than meets the eye. Crime, politics, and family are all included in this intense drama to keep viewers interested. It contained a high-concept plot and was intended to run for several seasons,” sources quoted.
Kajol made her Netflix debut with the film Tribhanga. Along with Kajol, the movie also starred Mithila Palkar and Tanvi Azmi in leading roles. Kajol recently made headlines after receiving an offer to join the Academy Awards Jury.
