Digital Desk: A spine-chilling incident occurred in Rajasthan's Udaipur on Tuesday; two people allegedly killed a tailor named Kanhaiya Lal for remarking on social media in support of suspended BJP spokeswoman Nupur Sharma

The Jaipur District Administration implemented section 144 across the entire area until further orders due to the event. Internet access has also been disabled throughout the Jaipur, Ajmer, and Udaipur divisions.

Earlier, the authorities imposed a curfew in seven Udaipur police station neighborhoods for 8 nights till further instructions. The order to impose a curfew in the areas surrounding the police stations of Dhan Mandi, Ghanta Ghar, Hathi Pole, Amba Mata, Suraj Pole, Bhupalpura, and Savina was given by Udaipur Collector Tarachand Meena.

Internet services have been suspended in the area, and 600 police officers have been dispatched to Udaipur to enforce law and order.

Regarding the death of the Kanhaiya lal, Rajendra Bhatt, the divisional commissioner for Udaipur, pleaded with the residents to maintain peace.

The divisional commissioner for Udaipur said, "We request Udaipur residents to uphold the peace. The family of (victim Kanhaiya Lal) will receive compensation in the amount of Rs. 5 lakhs, and the dependents have been promised employment through UIT's placement service."

The incident happened in the Maldas neighborhood of Udaipur. According to authorities, the two suspects released a video on social media shortly after the crime, boasting about the beheading and also threatening the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the event, the two suspects were detained shortly after.

According to authorities, one of the attackers, recognized as Riyaz Akhtar, used a sharp-edged weapon to strike Kanhaiya Lal. At the same time, the other, Ghos Mohammad, recorded the crime on his cell phone.

According to reports, the victim, a tailor, had published a social media message supporting Nupur Sharma, a former BJP spokesperson who had made controversial comments about the Prophet Mohammad.

Local markets in the environs were closed after the murder because the traders wanted justice for the victim.
