The 18th edition of the IPL is scheduled to take place on March 22, with Kolkata's Eden Gardens to host the opening fixture between KKR and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Digital Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is on a remarkable trophy tour journey to celebrate the franchise's grand victory of the Tata IPL 2024. As part of its championship celebrations, KKR is on a trophy tour across nine cities including Guwahati from today. The defending champion KKR started the journey from Guwahati on February 14, marking the first time for an IPL franchise to organize a multi-city tour beyond its home city in history since its inception in 2008.

The golden trophy reached several places in Guwahati including Maa Kamakhya Temple, City Center Mall, and various media houses on Friday. As KKR is aiming to defend its crown this year, its unique initiative has created excitement among the fans. 

The prestigious trophy tour across nine cities will make a return to Kolkata on March 16. The tour will cover multiple cities including Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Gangtok, Siliguri, Patna, Durgapur, and Kolkata.

The 18th edition of the IPL is scheduled to take place on March 22, with Kolkata's Eden Gardens to host the opening fixture between KKR and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Guwahati will host two matches as Rajasthan Royals (RR) has selected the place as its second home. The RR team will play two of its matches against KKR on March 26 and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 30.
