The 38th edition of the National Games, concluded on Friday, marked the participation of over 10,000 athletes from 28 states, 8 Union Territories, and the Services Sports Central Board (SSCB).

Digital Desk: India's multi-sport event, the National Games, 2025 held the closing ceremony on Friday with the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah as Guest of Honour, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, Uttarakhand Sports Minister Rekha Arya, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha, boxing legend Mary Kom, shooter Gagan Narang among others.

The 38th edition of the National Games, concluded on Friday, marked the participation of over 10,000 athletes from 28 states, 8 Union Territories, and the Services Sports Central Board (SSCB). Since January 26, 2025, the athletes have competed in 32 different sports across multiple venues and represented their states.

The SSCB clinched the top position in the medal tally with 121 medals, including 68 gold, 26 silver, and 27 bronze. Maharashtra secured second position with 201 medals, including 54 gold, 71 silver, and 76 bronze. Haryana finished third with 153 medals, including 48 gold, 47 silver, and 58 bronze.  

Assam ranked at the 24th position with 34 medals, including 3 gold, 15 silver, and 16 bronze. Assam's sports icon and Olympic medalist boxer Lovlina Borgohain and Ankushita Boro clinched gold medals in the women's middleweight (75 kg) division and 66 kg category respectively. Boxer Shiva Thapa and Abhinav Saikia claimed silver medals in their respective categories.
