Digital Desk: In a tragic incident, a man allegedly kidnapped a 15-year-old girl from her village and took her to Himachal Pradesh, where he raped her for about three months. Following his return to Ballia with the girl, the 26-year-old accused was taken into custody by the police on Monday after they had rescued the child.

The girl and the accused, who was employed in Himachal Pradesh and is originally from Nepal's Parsa district, became friends on social media, according to the authorities. According to them, the child went missing on January 29 and a case was filed under Section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code against unidentified persons based on her mother's complaint. 

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Dev Ranjan Verma, the girl was freed from the accused on Monday by the police. The girl told the police that Pritam Yadav, the accused, had become friends with her on social media and had visited her village.

 

According to the SP, who cited the victim, Yadav later allegedly kidnapped the young girl and took her to Himachal Pradesh, where he raped her for about three months. 

According to the minor's statement, the case has been expanded to include relevant parts of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 376 (2) (rape) of the Indian Penal Code, he said.

The SP stated that on Monday, the accused was taken into custody by the police from Ratsar town.
