Digital Desk: Manipur's Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed a strong desire for the pursuit of justice as a team of Central Bureau of probe (CBI) started their probe into the death of two youths who had gone missing in July. The CM gave his word that those responsible for the deaths of the two students would be apprehended and accountable.

A team from the CBI headed by Special Director Ajay Bhatnagar came to Manipur on September 27 to begin a thorough inquiry into the case. At a news conference to announce this significant development, Chief Minister N Biren Singh emphasized that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had personally assured him of the arrest and punishment of those responsible for the kidnapping and murder of the two youths.

The chief minister refused to provide the particular area where the CBI team had started their work, only saying that "after landing in Imphal, they have begun their investigation."

According to sources acquainted with the investigation, the agency's main priorities will be identifying the murder scene, retrieving the bodies of the victims, and successfully apprehending and convicting the culprits.
