Silchar witnessed a series of high-level inspections and review meetings on Friday as Minister for Food and Public Distribution, Housing and Urban Affairs, Consumer Affairs, and Cooperation, Kaushik Rai, meticulously assessed key public services. His visit aimed at evaluating market management, road infrastructure, healthcare provisions, and various other public service-related issues across the city.

During his day-long program, Minister Rai engaged directly with local traders, reviewed ongoing and proposed development initiatives, and chaired a significant administrative meeting at the District Commissioner's Office. The day commenced with a visit to Fatak Bazar, where he held detailed discussions with representatives from the Silchar Foodgrains Merchants' Association and the Fatak Bazar Committee. The deliberations centered on the overall condition of the market, challenges faced by traders, the state of civic amenities, sanitation, and traffic management, alongside other aspects critical for public convenience.

Further discussions at the market emphasized strategies to enhance its organization, cleanliness, and citizen-friendliness. The Minister stressed the importance of a coordinated approach involving the administration, local traders, and other stakeholders to achieve these improvements. Senior district officials, including Cachar District Commissioner Rahul Kumar Gupta and the Superintendent of Police, Cachar, were present throughout the review sessions, underscoring the collaborative effort to address the identified concerns and streamline public service delivery in Silchar.
