After Amul and Parag, Mother Dairy raises milk prices in Delhi-NCR by Rs 2 per litre starting Sunday.
Digital Desk: Mother Dairy, following Amul and Parag, would raise milk prices by Rs 2 per litre in Delhi-NCR from Sunday due to rising procurement, fuel, and other costs, the business announced today. In Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, Mother Dairy milk will be more expensive.The news comes just days after Amul announced an annual price hike effective March 1 across all milk kinds, and dairy company Parag Milk Foods Ltd upped the price of its Gowardhan brand of cow milk by Rs 2 per litre.Mother Dairy Milk is available in more than 100 Indian cities, and the corporation plans to boost pricing in other locations shortly."Mother Dairy is constrained to hike its liquid milk pricing by Rs 2/litre in Delhi NCR with effect from March 6, 2022," the business announced on Saturday, citing rising procurement prices (amount given to farmers), fuel costs, and packaging material costs.From Sunday onwards, whole cream milk would cost Rs 59 per litre, up from Rs 57 on Saturday. Toned milk would cost Rs 49 per litre, while double-toned milk will cost Rs 43 per litre. Cow milk prices have been increased from Rs 49 to Rs 51 per litre. In addition, the bulk vended milk (token milk) price has been hiked to Rs 46 per litre from Rs 44."The increase in farm prices is only partially passed on to consumers, with an effective revision of just 4%, which is lower than the increase in farm prices and total food inflation, thereby ensuring the interests of all stakeholders," according to the firm.Mother Dairy noted, "As a responsible business, Mother Dairy has constantly worked toward giving remunerative pricing to milk producers, thereby maintaining the sustainability of dairying and availability of excellent milk."Also Read: Cyberattack: Internet users go offline in Europe after the Russian invasion in Ukraine- Report
