Digital Desk: While campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, PM Modi stated that Muslim females felt protected under the Yogi Adityanath-led government. “Muslim girls in Uttar Pradesh feel protected under the BJP’s control. As a result, many more Muslim females are now enrolled in state schools and colleges.” PM Modi said while speaking at an election rally in Kanpur Dehat. Further, commenting on the state’s law and order situation, PM Modi said, “Due to eve-teasers on the streets, our Muslim daughters used to have many problems going to schools. As our government has taken criminals behind the bar, now they feel a sense of security.” PM Modi criticizing the Samajwadi Party for changing alliance partners in every election, stated, “How would they serve the people of Uttar Pradesh if they keep changing their allies?” The Samajwadi Party, led by Akhilesh Yadav, is currently contesting the 2022 Assembly elections in an alliance with the Rashtriya Lok Dal, led by Jayant Chaudhary, and other small parties. Notably, the SP and Congress teamed up to run in the 2017 Assembly elections. Meanwhile, the SP ran in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in partnership with Mayawati’s Bahujan Samajwadi Party. The second round of the UP elections is presently underway, with 55 Assembly constituencies comprising nine districts of Saharanpur, Bijnor, Amroha, Sambhal, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Budaun, and Shahjahanpur.
