Digital Desk: Ruprekha Bhuyan, who was critically injured in a brutal robbery attack at Morikolong in Nagaon, died at around 3:30 am today while undergoing treatment at GNRC Hospital in Super Market area of Guwahati.


The robbery incident took place on 24th April when a five-member gang allegedly looted the residence of doctor Ranjit Saikia. During the attack, the robbers reportedly assaulted the doctor and his wife with iron rods, leaving both seriously injured.


Ruprekha Bhuyan had remained in a coma since the day of the incident and succumbed to her injuries after battling for life for 16 days.


Family members have approached Dispur Police regarding the entire incident. In the presence of police officials, the family will receive the body from the hospital. The body will then be taken to GMCH for post-mortem examination before being transported to her residence for the final rites.
