Digital Desk: As part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the citizens of India to change the display picture (DP) of their social media handles to the national flag ahead of the country's 77th Independence Day celebrations.

Changing the DP of his X account to tricolor, he said, "In the spirit of the #HarGharTiranga movement, let us change the DP of our social media accounts and extend support to this unique effort, which will deepen the bond between our beloved country and us."

Following PM Modi's post, BJP officials changed their DP on social media and urged followers to do the same.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also changed the DP of his X handle and wrote, "As part of the #HarGharTiranga movement, let us change the DP of our social media and support this great cause."

On August 15, India will commemorate its 76 years of independence, and the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was started in 2022 to provoke a sense of patriotism and nationalism among the citizens of the country.

Continuing their campaign this year, the government has urged people to hoist the national flag at their homes, workplaces (both public and private), and other places.
