Digital Desk: Heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand caused landslides and flash floods in numerous locations throughout the State, resulting in fifty-two fatalities and around 37 injuries so far this monsoon season, according to official estimates.

"The state of Uttarakhand has lost so far an estimated Rs 650 crore as a result of the devastation brought on by the severe monsoon rains, and this figure may rise in the days to come. There have been 52 fatalities, 37 injuries, and 19 unaccounted-for incidents as a result of rain-related calamities," the State Disaster Management Department reported.

According to the State Disaster Management Department, "An immediate report will be prepared and sent to the Central Government after the monsoon concludes so that relief efforts can be completed quickly after the disaster."

Meanwhile, the SDRF and NDRF have been deployed at the necessary locations per the Chief Minister's directions. They stated that two helicopters had also been kept ready for disaster-stricken areas.

Five pilgrims died earlier at Tarsali under Chowki Phata in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district after the vehicle they were riding in was buried under the rubble of a landslip, according to authorities on Saturday.

The victims, one of whom was from Gujarat, were reportedly travelling to Kedarnath on Thursday night when the incident occurred.

According to officials, the incident caused the Guptkashi-Gaurikund roadway leading to Kedarnath Dham to be closed to traffic on Friday and roughly 60 metres of the road were severely damaged and washed away.

The state's several regions, including Rudraprayag, have witnessed nonstop rain for the past few days.
