candidate Yashwant Sinha stated that the July 18 presidential election is a
battle against the Union government's "misuse" of federal agencies.
Sinha
promised to put an end to the abuse of government institutions if he were
elected president.
Additionally,
he said that the BJP and the central government it controls are
"deliberately" fomenting hatred in the nation.
Sinha
criticised the government of India's central bank for its economic policies,
slowing growth and dropping rupee exchange rate.
He
claimed that India would not have a situation similar to Sri Lanka.
Elections
are being held under unprecedented conditions, according to Sinha.
"Everyone
is aware of the country's situation." The BJP and the Indian government are
actively cultivating and promoting a climate of hatred, "he informed the
press.
"This is also a battle against
the organisations that the Center is abusing." I'm unsure of what may
occur to me following the elections, "said he.
Sinha said that if he is elected
president, the abuse of central agencies will end because the nation has had a
"silent president" for the last five years.
He
would contact the prime minister and request that he address the concerns
brought up by the chief minister of Rajasthan. Sinha made reference to Ashok
Gehlot's demand that the prime minister address the country about the current
state of unrest, hatred, and violence in that country.
In response to a query on the economic
crisis in Sri Lanka and India, Sinha stated that such a disaster would not be
witnessed in India. I can guarantee that India won't turn into Sri Lanka, he
asserted.
Additionally, he criticised the BJP
for political developments in Maharashtra and now Goa, claiming that they were
planned prior to the presidential election in order to limit the growth of the
opposition vote.
He
said politics based on consensus, which was there in the era of former PM Atal
Bihari Vajpayee, has now ended. Now, there is politics on conflict, he said.
After
the press conference, Sinha met MLAs of the Congress and others supporting him.
