Digital Desk: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu urged all state educational institutions on Friday to create their own digital forum in the coming days.

In a meeting held at Shrimanta Kalakshetra's International Auditorium on Friday, the minister advised all institutions to create accounts on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter in order to bridge the gap between students and educational institutions.

He stated that essential notices and instructions will now be sent to institutions via e-mail or social media.

The minister emphasized the importance of social media accounts, saying, "Social media is not only a source of entertainment; it has the capacity of connecting the entire world all together. However, Assam's government institutions do not use social media. Therefore, I encourage people to come forward and log in to social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and others so that they can share their works with one another."

Furthermore, the minister stated that the education department is attempting to increase the gross enrolment ratio of the state's colleges in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommendations. The NEP directs every higher education institution to enroll at least 3000 students in order to raise the gross enrollment ratio.
