Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar ranks among the movies with some of the best openings since the pandemic thanks to its excellent start.
Digital Desk: On March 8, Holi, the movie Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor was released in theatres. The romance comedy has had a very successful opening weekend, grossing more than most people had anticipated. As a result, it not only had the second-best opening of a Bollywood film this year it became the highest-opening Hindi picture on Holi post-pandemic.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar made Rs 15.73 crore net on Wednesday, the day of its release, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. Most analysts and industry professionals expected the movie to bring in between Rs 11 and Rs 13 crore. This is the second-highest debut for a Hindi movie this year, after only Pathaan's staggering Rs 57-crore opening day haul. The real test for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will be its Thursday sales. The second day of a movie is typically on the weekend, but because this movie had a midweek holiday release, it fell on a weekday. The Luv Ranjan movie has a good chance of consolidating over the weekend if it can keep steady and avoid experiencing a significant decline. Dimple Kapadia, Boney Kapoor, and Anubhav Singh Bassi are among the other actors who appear in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.
