The UK PM and his wife Akshata Murty arrived in Delhi on Friday to attend the two-day-long G20 Summit which started on Saturday. 

Digital Desk: UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty will visit the Akshardham temple located in Delhi on September 10, sources told India Today. On Friday, the UK PM called himself a "proud Hindu" and expressed his wish to visit a temple during his stay here.

"I'm a proud Hindu, and that's how I was raised. That's how I am. Hopefully, I can visit a Mandir while I'm here for the next couple of days,” he told ANI news agency. Rishi Sunak added that he celebrated Raksha Bandhan but did not have time to celebrate Krishna Janmasthami properly, so he hoped to "make up for it" by visiting a temple.

As per sources, Rishi Sunak and his wife will visit the Akshardham temple at around 6 am on Sunday and will spend an hour there. Police have already ensured that security arrangements are in place at the temple for Sunak's visit.

The UK PM and his wife Akshata Murty arrived in Delhi on Friday to attend the two-day-long G20 Summit which started on Saturday. They were greeted by Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey with a "Jai Siya Ram". They were also gifted with Rudraksh, a copy of Bhagavad Geeta, and a Hanuman Chalisa.

On the sidelines of the G20 Summit, the UK Prime Minister and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi met in private on Saturday. After the meeting, PM Modi released a photo of the two of them hugging and stated that they talked about measures to strengthen trade ties and increase investment between the two nations.
