Digital Desk: On his first day at job, a 'bored' security guard allegedly destroyed a $1 million (Rs 7.47 crore) named "Three figures" painting by bringing attention to its faceless figures.
'Three Figures' (1932-1934) by Anna Leporskaya, from the Tretyakov Gallery collection, was hung at the Yeltsin Centre in the Sverdlovsk Oblast region of west-central Russia.
The bored security guard allegedly drew eyes on the faces of two of the three figures shown in the artwork with a ballpoint pen and vandalised the Russian painting namely 'Three Figures' painting.

The security guard, who has not been identified, is claimed to be 60 years old and works for a private corporation. He is said to have been sacked.
On December 7, 2021, the painting was featured in the exhibition 'The World as Non-Objectivity, The Birth of a New Art.'
Following the event, the police launched an inquiry for vandalism, which carries a fine of RUB 40,000 (Rs 39,900) and a one-year prison sentence.
The painting's damage has been assessed at RUB 250,000. (Rs 2,49,500)
The painting's value is unknown, although it was insured for RUB 74.9 million with the Alfa insurance firm (Rs 7.47 crore).
According to reports, the corporation is footing the bill for the restoration.
The picture is being restored by experts in the hopes of restoring it to its former brilliance.
The Yeltsin Center said, "The work was inspected by the restorer of the State Tretyakov Gallery the very next day and sent to Moscow. The painting is being restored, the damage, according to the expert, can be eliminated without consequences for the work of art. The Yeltsin Center refrained from commenting on this situation in hot pursuit, as an internal investigation of the incident and interaction with law enforcement agencies were underway."
