Officials have been told that rescue operations have started and that efforts are being made to get people who are trapped back to safety.

Digital Desk: An unfinished four-story building collapsed on Friday in Delhi's Azad Market neighbourhood, injuring at least four people while possibly trapping many more, according to authorities.

Around 8.50 am today, construction was still going on when the building unexpectedly fell.

Initial reports indicated that the incident harmed four construction workers who were employed as labourers.

It's also possible that five more people are buried beneath the wreckage and debris.

Officials have been told that rescue operations have started and that efforts are being made to get people who are trapped back to safety.

They continued, "Four fire tenders have also been rushed to the scene."

The building appears to have fallen because the structure could not support the weight, according to the DCP of Delhi.
