Sarma reiterated that the ADRE will adhere to its usual format, consisting of a written examination followed by a viva interview.

Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced significant revisions to the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) process, introducing negative markings for Grade III and IV job tests. This decision, mirroring Uttar Pradesh's approach, aims to streamline recruitment procedures amid a surge in applicants.

With an astounding 11 lakh candidates competing for approximately 13,000 vacancies this year, the ADRE has become one of the largest recruitment initiatives in the state's recent history. Addressing concerns voiced by aspirants and the public, Chief Minister Sarma confirmed on July 13 that the current format of the exam will remain unchanged.

Sarma reiterated that the ADRE will adhere to its usual format, consisting of a written examination followed by a viva interview. This marks a departure from earlier considerations to align the syllabus for third and fourth-grade positions with that of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).
