Digital Desk: According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam government is considering spending at least Rs 20,000 crore to renovate 2,000 government schools in the state.

Sarma stated during a function in Kamrup district, "The state government will take steps to revamp 2,000 vernacular medium schools across the state with a financial outlay of Rs 10 crore for each school."

The state government has constructed 18 'Adarsha Vidyalayas' under the CBSE curriculum, which would provide English language instruction.

The government also established 19 schools in the state's tea garden zones. These schools were officially opened on Monday.

Sarma remarked that the state government's effort to construct CBSE schools will help economically disadvantaged students to study English in government schools.

"We are working very hard to establish Adarsha Vidayalayas in each of the 126 Assembly constituencies." "Construction on 55 schools has been completed, and work on the remaining 71 is currently underway," he said.

According to the Chief Minister, these Adarsha Vidyalayas will include smart classrooms, science laboratories, computer labs, libraries, and other amenities. Furthermore, these schools will be outfitted with 'Project Child,' which will allow children to grow both mentally and physically.
