As the release date approaches, the spotlight remains on "Protishroti" as a catalyst for societal introspection and dialogue...

Digital Desk: In an unexpected twist, the United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent (ULFA-I) has issued a surprising appeal to the people of Assam. The separatist group, known for its militant activities, is urging the public to watch the upcoming Assamese film "Protishroti," produced by Ratul Baruah and directed by Kishore Tahbildar.

Scheduled for an English release on May 24, 2024, "Protishroti" addresses critical social issues, particularly the pervasive problems of narcotics consumption and trafficking that have plagued Assam for decades. ULFA-I's statement acknowledges the film's relevance in shedding light on these pressing matters.

Featuring the talents of renowned actresses Prastuti Parasor and Plabita Borthakur, "Protishroti" promises to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative and social commentary. ULFA-I, in its statement, emphasized its consistent stance against drug proliferation in Assam, dating back to its active presence in the 1990s.

The group contends that drug consumption and trafficking not only endanger public health but also erode the social fabric of Assamese society. Therefore, ULFA-I's call for the widespread screening of "Protishroti" in every cinema hall across Assam for a duration of three to four weeks underscores the film's potential to engage diverse audiences and spark meaningful conversations.

While ULFA-I's involvement in promoting a film may seem unconventional, it highlights the common ground shared by various stakeholders in addressing social challenges. As Assam confronts the complexities of drug trafficking and substance abuse, initiatives like "Protishroti" serve as catalysts for collective action and awareness.

As the release date approaches, the spotlight remains on "Protishroti" as a catalyst for societal introspection and dialogue. ULFA-I's unexpected endorsement adds a new dimension to the film's significance, showcasing the potential for art to bridge divides and inspire positive change in Assam.
