The JKCA stated that after serving the two-year ban, the player can only compete in the BCCl's Senior Men's Tournament...

Digital Desk: On Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended a cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir for two years for submitting multiple birth certificates.

The cricketer has been identified as Vanshaj Sharma, a native of Bishnah, according to an announcement released by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).

"For this act, he has been barred from participating in any BCCI tournament for two years, beginning October 27," added JKCA.

The JKCA, on the other hand, explained that after serving the two-year ban, the player can only compete in the BCCl's Senior Men's Tournament and will not be able to play in any BCCI age group tournaments.

According to the JKCA, athletes should not commit such offences because the punishment imposed by BCCl has a negative impact on the player's career.

Vanshaj Sharma moved to another state and applied as a member of Bihar's U-23 Men's squad from there, according to the report.

Giving more information regarding Sharma, the JKCA stated that his data had been available with the BCCI since he was originally registered by the JKCA in 2021-22, and despite his changing the Association, he was discovered for submitting multiple birth certificates.

"As a consequence, he has been banned from participating in any tournament for two years and from participating in age group tournaments for his entire life," said the statement.
