The ED has been looking into a money laundering case for the past few months. It raided Ibrahim's and his aide's hideouts several times in the same matter.

bfc2 Digital Desk: Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis was arrested by Mumbai police on Wednesday. While being held, he was spotted waving the BJP flag from the police jeep. Along with Fadnavis, other leaders were held by Mumbai police for participating in a protest march calling for NCP minister Nawab Malik's resignation. Pravin Darekar, Ashish Shelar, Girish Mahajan, Nitish Rane, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, and Niranjan Davkare are among the names on the list. Notably, Fadnavis has been protesting in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for the past several days, seeking the resignation of Nawab Malik, who is now in judicial custody in connection with a money laundering case involving gangster Dawood Ibrahim and is due to be released on March 21. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) apprehended Malik on February 23 after an hours-long interrogation. The ED case is based on an FIR by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The case was filed under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act by the ED (UAPA). The ED has been looking into a money laundering case for the past few months. It raided Ibrahim's and his aide's hideouts several times in the same matter. The ED had already summoned Nawab Malik's son, Faraz Malik, for questioning. Notably, Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar, brother Iqbal Kaskar, brother-in-law Salim Fruit, and Chhota Shakeel were questioned by the ED in February.
